We love trends but there are certain colours that remain favourites, no matter how much time has passed. Our Plascon colourists are well aware of these classics and have selected 108 favourite colours and put them into a special Plascon Paint Essential Collection called “The Essential Collection”.
Kansai Paint, the global paint partner of Manchester United, is committed to supporting and improving education. As part of the company’s corporate social investment programme, four schools have been selected from the various areas around South Africa in which Kansai Plascon’s factories operate.
Kansai Plascon’s Luipaardsvlei factory in Krugersdorp has chosen to assist Randfontein Secondary School by painting and renovating the buildings, and supporting the school’s soccer team. To do this, Kansai Plascon has enlisted the help of Manchester United legend Quinton Fortune.

Kingsley Holgate is a South African explorer, humanitarian and author; a fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and described by Getaway Magazine as “the most travelled man in Africa” who has modelled himself on David Livingstone. In the post below, Carla Geyser (founder of the organization Blue Sky) outlines the valuable work that this modern-day explorer and adventurer is doing with the children of Africa to raise awareness and give them a voice when it comes to rhino poaching.
So, how many of you have ever wondered about the journey that your tin of Plascon paint makes before it ends up on a wall in your home? Maybe you haven’t ever wondered about the research and development that goes into producing paint, but at Plascon – with its 120 year history – innovation and improvement are two of our core business values.
This Expresso clip from Mandela Day gives you a unique glimpse into how we create our superior products, and you’ll get to see a little of the brand new Kansai Plascon National Development Centre Johannesburg that opened in February this year:
