I can’t wait to see what 100% Design South Africa will pull out of their design hats this year. In its third year, it promises to be more creative, more beautiful and more inspiring than ever.
100% Colour, and official media partner House and Leisure, in association with Plascon, will once again adorn the entry path. This year’s 100% Colour looks to the four wind directions of Africa to inform a compass of colour.
100% Design South Africa is the only one of its kind in South Africa. A truly international and national design show, it attracts trade professionals and members of the public alike.
Of course, you should also not miss out on 100 Beautiful Things – a show favourite that singles out 100 South African product designs. These beautiful products are carefully selected and then artfully displayed by 100% Design South Africa programme director, Cathy O’Clery.
Emerging talent will also be brought to the fore in a dedicated pavilion, 100% Talent, which gives our future design luminaries a platform.
100% Café is the vibrant meet-and-eat gathering space at the heart of the show and will be decked out in style by Jacket Interiors.
Below is what 100 beautiful things looked like in 2015:
Last but not least, look out for our top twenty entries from the 2016 Plascon Colour Design Awards that will be on display at 100% Design South Africa. As the much anticipated 2017 Colour Forecast is launched during this time, the Plascon team will of course be there.
Here is a sneak preview of some of the amazing exhibitors at this year’s show:
- Design Team
- Meyer von Wielligh
- Joe Paine
- David Bellamy
You will also see a number of designers from e.g. Swaziland, Cape Town and Durban. From KwaZulu-Natal, look out especially for Egg Design, Arkivio, Goodwood, and Notation. From Cape Town, look out for Douglas & Co, Hoi P’loy, Jasper Eales, and many more.
Come find us and share your top five beautiful things with us. You never know, we might send you home with one of our favourite finds at 100% Design South Africa. We look forward to seeing you there (Gallagher Estate, 5–9 August).
