Anne Roselt, Plascon Colour Manager
This week we celebrated Nelsons Mandela’s birthday. In tribute to him, this post is about celebrating African Style and African inspired interiors. There is something really real about African homes. From the most basic, to the homes of the rich and famous, African homes capture the culture and reflect the environment, which you could say is organic and a bit on the wild side. African style is very on trend too, as many designers used African inspiration in their collections at the 2012 London and New York Fashion weeks including: Michaels Kors, L.A.M.B, Burberry Prorsum and Donna Karan.
I love the layering and texture in the above image, which combines to create a serene but interesting bedroom.

Beautiful moody dark blue walls in the home of Architect Richard Stretton and his wife Angela Shaw from the Shaw sisters. I love how the yellow accents inject a bit of sunshine into the space of African inspired interiors such as this.
This bedroom was designed by Michelle Throssell, perfect for a teenage girls bedroom – fuscia pink is such a happy optimistic colour. Colours Fuscia Fizz R2-A1-1, Scented candle R6-D2-3, Pleasant Hill Y7-E1-4, Lime Miss Y6-A1-2
