    Dear Plascon,

I am currently in the process of painting my house, interior as well as exterior. I am struggling to find a colour for both and have painted several testers based on colours from the colour forecast book and swatches.

My exterior paint I have semi-decided on Beach Wood (Wall & All) for the majority of the house and Misty Valley (Micatex) for my columns and window borders. The roof we have decided on Ashen Sky (Nuroof). The colours I have chosen is based on that I would like to go towards a more greyish palette for both inside and outside.

The interior is where I am having a little bit of trouble. Currently the house has very natural tones and the paint is a sandy colour. Again I would like to go towards a more greyish palette however I need to consider my furniture, which I have a lot of wood furniture. We are also replacing our tiles with a taupe coloured ceramic tile which gives the effect of a concrete floor. The colours that I have looked at has been In the Mood (find that it has a pinkish undertone); Evasive White (find that it has a greenish/grey undertone); Hudson (too light). I think I should be going for a grey colour with a brownish tone but need a recommendation on this.

I would appreciate your expert guidance on this.

    Kind regards,
    Dierdre

      Hi Dierdre,

As you are currently in the process of painting (and might be looking for a response by this weekend), I sense that this query will need to be escalated. As the colour consultants are currently processing previous queries and drawing up presentations, the best/quickest way for this to happen and my advice would be for you to call the Spaces Showroom directly, give them your reference name (they should have my email and your questions on record – if necessary, ask to speak to Patty Mulauzi) and explain that you are looking for their recommendations for a painting job in process.

Here is the telephone contact number: 011 467 8693

If it is not urgent for this weekend, then I will be sure to forward you their response as soon as I receive it.

      Kind regards.

Hi Dierdre – below is the response from our colour consultant, Lungile Mtshali:

      Dear Dierdre,

Please find the digital swatches (click to view) as options for your interior. These colours are warm grey earthy colours, not too dark and not too light and they will work with the taupe floor tile.

Please note that it is advisable to buy tester pots and try the colours on the wall first.

If you have any further questions, please contact me (details below).

      Kind regards,
      LUNGILE MTSHALI
