If you’re like me, you may have missed the boat this last week with putting up your decorations. If so, not to fear, this weekend is still available to pretty-up your space with Christmas cheer, which is why this morning we are giving you some ideas on how to do so with the following DIY Christmas Decoration Ideas!
Plascon Trends DIY Christmas Decoration Ideas!
First up is some gorgeous metallic lustre; nothing like old, gold sheen to create gentle ambiance in the flickering light of candles. These days you can pick up giant lettering to spell out a message of Christmas cheer at just about any craft or home store, and Plascon’s Metallic Gold DRM3 is the perfect DIY solution for turning basic white into holiday sheen; you can also use it to give wooden branches and candle holders a holiday makeover…
Perhaps I’m just a bit of a food glutton, but I have to say that so many of the most appealing decorative ideas that I have found involve food!
Hanging decorative ginger biscuits may seem a little continental for most South African’s liking, but it could be adapted to feature meringues, methinks, which would go perfectly with a selection of summer fruits for dessert purposes on Christmas day… Just a thought.
I also like the idea of turning ye olde coffee cups into decorations for staircases – the cups can be filled with yummy chocs and sweets… Yummo. Possibly not so great for those looking to stay trim for costume attire this summer. Again, for the health-conscious amongst you readers, one could swap-out chocs for nuts and fruit treats.
And lastly, who needs a Christmas tree when you can swap it out for old post-it notes arranged on a free-standing mirror. Excellent for hallways spaces, and at the end of the festive season one simply scrunches up said post-it notes into the recycling bin. Decoration made easy, noh?
Close to a coastline, are you? Found any nice driftwood of late? Well, then give the wood a lick of white paint and adorn with some cute woollen baubles like these (above) and you have an exceptionally simple yet effective window decoration.
Happy Holidays! And merry, merry decorating, everyone – just two weeks to go!
