I do so love a bit of a geometric paint effect on a wall, and these are of course also very much on trend right now… They’re also really easy to recreate in your home; all you need is a few materials to achieve a truly impactful effect in your home.
Step One: Materials!
You will need the following items…
1) Anything from three to five shades of Plascon paint; the more shades you have the busier the ultimate geometric pattern [select from the Cashmere paint range for a matt finish, or from Double Velvet for a velvet sheen finish, or from the Velvaglo range for sateen finish]
2) Two to three rolls of painter’s/masking tape; the busier the geometric pattern you have in mind, the more tape you’re going to need
3) A handled roller brush for the top corner of the wall and for application of the base colour, as well as smaller rollers for application of the other paint colours to specific blocks or shapes
4) Smaller painters’ brushes for neatening up the edges and lines of your shapes
Just follow this easy pictorial how to:
Step Two: Tape Off the Geometric Design
Hint: make sure that you are applying the painter’s/masking tape to a clean and dry wall!
Step Three: Paint On a Base Coat
The underlying paint colour will become the colour of the dissecting lines of your geometric shape and also this first colour will be the colour that is most prominent in the finished effect.
Step Four: Peeling Off The Tape!
Once you’ve applied all the colours of your design and the paint is thoroughly dry (I would advise waiting a good 24 hours) then you can gently remove the painters/masking tape to reveal your gorgeous geometric design!
You may need to also touch up some of the lines with your smaller paint brushes to achieve a truly precision finish 😉
Happy DIY everyone 🙂
