In my world there is nothing better than sitting in the garden with a cup of coffee on a Sunday morning. This is exactly where I am at the moment… the sun on my back, and a light breeze blowing just enough that I can hear it in the trees in the garden. Bliss.

Decorex Cape Town is almost over, and if you have not had a chance to go, you have today and tomorrow (Monday) left to get down to the CTICC in Cape Town. I found some wonderful inspiration; my head is full of ideas and I have compiled a list of my favourite things at Decorex this year – hope you love them as much as I do (they are all favourites, so in no particular order 🙂 )

La Joie Senteur – Decorex Cape Town 2016

An artisanal brand developed by Royale Afrique du Sud. Hand-poured candles made to perfection with the most amazing fragrance combinations you will ever find. It comes in the following fragrances: Ginger Lime, Polinesian Plumera (floral), Vanilla Apricot, and Royale Blue (woody). The Royale Blue is my favourite, with notes of caramel. Smells good enough to eat.

Mae Artisan Rugs – Decorex Cape Town 2016

There is just no way that you will not be attracted to this beautiful exhibit. The colours are soft and dreamy, and they have put it together beautifully. Mae manages all the aspects of the manufacturing, from the design of the collection and bespoke pieces to the dyeing, spinning and weaving of the wool. They really understand the creation of beautiful and original pieces of art for your floor.

Growing Paper – Decorex Cape Town 2016

What a beautiful, clever idea for your use of cards and paper. When you have read your card, don’t throw it in the dustbin – plant it!

Barrydale Hand Weavers – Decorex Cape Town 2016

Beautifully hand-woven out of unbleached cotton. The weavers are encouraged to come up with their own designs. Most of the products are woven using cotton waste from large textile manufacturers which creates a soft and luxurious feel.

You use these lovelies (below) to cover your food – they are made out of breathable cotton. Beauty with a purpose… 🙂
