Anne Roselt, Plascon Colour Manager
A few months ago we featured the paler, blush shades of pink as the Plascon Colour of the Month. As October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, we are going pink again, but this time with a more vibrant shade of pink – this pink is not for sissies.
Plascon Colour of The Month: Pink
This ‘hot pink’ living room makes a powerful statement. There is just nothing understated in this fearless use of colour choice.
For those not as brave, hot pink can also be used as a feature wall to give a room an energy boost. Vibrant pinks share more of the qualities of their mother red; they are uplifting, energetic and exciting. Red and pink also work well when used together in contemporary schemes.
Dark greys and black will ground vibrant pinks.
The colour can also be broken up with pictures, as can be seen in this delightful bedroom.
The saturated hue does not look out of place in this ultra-modern bathroom; it gives it a warmth and energy that would have been missing had this bathroom been all white.
Hot pink also looks completely at home on this old building, giving it a new lease on life and creating a charming and sure to be talked about home.
Green is the complementary colour to pink, and this shade of green is a perfect colour to offset and balance the vibrant pink walls.
Another wonderful colour combination is hot pink and orange: as adjacent colours on the colour wheel, these colours create a wonderful harmony when combined together.
If pink is your favourite colour, then why not paint your front door this hue – imagine coming home and being welcomed by this everyday.
