I have been in Cape Town since Monday night, but today I’m really feeling it.  Not because of the mountain (it’s been under clouds ever since I arrived on Monday night), but because I am surrounded by Capetonians at Decorex Cape Town 2016… Spent a lovely morning at the CTICC, walking around and taking in all the creativity that you can find at Decorex – so many amazing things to see.

If you are in Cape Town and you have not as yet made a decision to come to Decorex, I suggest you come to the CTICC and get some inspiration. There is something for everyone. I particularly enjoyed the MAKERSHUB, which is part of the 100% Textile Hub, and I will be featuring some objet from there for tomorrow’s post. Also have a look at our Instagram account, as I will be posting some inspiration soon.

For now, I am featuring two of my top 10 list of exhibitors (below) featured at Decorex Cape Town 2016… but watch this space for more highlights over the next few days.

I love the natural hues with lots of greenery. And how wonderful is the changeable shelf unit behind the sink (below). I would never get tired of washing dishes again! I, of course, was not surprised that this amazing stand caught my eye… It was executed by Platform Creative Agency – with Laurence Brick and Cathy O’Clery at the helm of this powerhouse agency that assists brands to express themselves creatively.

Classic style with a contemporary twist. Adriaan Lochner is the first exhibitor as you enter the expo. I spoke with Adriaan earlier today and asked him to tell me about his inspiration. Adriaan says that he keeps location, personality and his clients’ individual preference in mind when he designs. For this exhibition, however, the inspiration was fabric from HOME FABRICS who collaborated with Adriaan on this project. MOORGAS & SONS provided bespoke furniture; the beautiful rugs are from GILLES BOTBYL and AVANCE CARPETLAMPS; the lamps are from CECILE & BOYD; and the antique collectables are from OBELISK.

Adriaan also whispered in my ear that he did all the beautiful paintings himself, as well as the flowers. I think that this took on a life of its own, and all I want to do is to go home, dig out all my delft from the back of the cupboard and give it an honorary place in my home.

I hope to see you at Decorex Cape Town 2016 over the weekend!
