Jan te Linteloo is a Dutch designer, best known for his homewares and furniture company Linteloo, which he started in 1993… And now this Dutch master will be making his way to South Africa as part of an inspirational evening of Dutch Furniture Design hosted by Chris Weylandt of Weylandts.
Jan is known for his decidedly down-to-earth approach to furniture design, with an emphasis on comfort and practicality. He believes, for example, that a family should be able to live on their couch – that design should not just be for design’s sake.

Joining Jan at this Weylandts event will be Margot Janse. Born and educated in the Netherlands, Margot is the renowned Executive Chef of Relais and Châteaux Le Quartier Français Hotel in Franschhoek. (Le Quartier Français)
At the age of 23 the ‘Magic of the Kitchen’ beckoned and Margot approached Ciro Molinaro (a highly respected Johannesburg restaurateur) for tutelage. During her two years in his kitchen, she learned every aspect of managing a restaurant. Then in 1995 she joined the culinary team at Le Quartier Français. The hotel restaurant was already considered one of South Africa’s best, and in her tenure of sixteen years she has added many national and international awards.
Margot travels extensively in order to continually be inspired by new ideas and to stay abreast of emerging trends; the menu changes regularly and is based on the seasonal fresh produce which she sources from Le Quartier’s own indigenous garden, as well as from small local producers.
The evening will most surely be one not to be missed; please see the invitation below for further details:
